It’s now occupied by a Mercure Hotel (hotel in the modern sense), and I follow the desk clerk’s recommendation from yesterday, to see if the day manager can help me find more historical information about the building, but no dice. Last evening, I visited 95 Rue Richelieu, the actual site of James Monroe’s first house in Paris when he arrived to take over the ambassadorship from Governeur Morris. On my way to my main destinations of the day, I quickly follow up on two sites from earlier in my trip. BNP Paribas offices, about where Hôtel Landron and cul-de-sac Taitbout used to be ![]()
